Our Mission

From the inception we had one simple use case - how could we help companies attract customers, engage followers and reach the friends of fans. We saw that people were building pages on Facebook that not many people would ever see. The first generation of social media management systems were not helping. They focused on building tabs and managing your communications, but did not have campaigns at their heart. Facebook pages, tabs and applications are components of wider marketing goals that will only be successful with traffic and conversions generated from stimulating consumer to consumer campaign interactions.

The conversation on social networks is between friends and the key for a brand is to use that conversation to help spread branded content through newsfeeds. What was needed was a new type of consumer to consumer campaign marketing service. Our Fan Relationship Marketing Platform helps marketers leverage things that drive viral activity such as quizzes, contests and sweepstakes that extend reach and engagement, as well as flash deals, coupons and social offers that help drive revenue. We believe that there is a democratization of marketing in process where brands can encourage as well as provide incentives to fans to help drive conversions with their friends. Today our platform is used by companies on four continents to achieve social commerce results through stimulating consumer to consumer campaigns.

Richard Jones

Richard started his career at a marketing agency, then embarked on a successful 12 year stint as a top performer in various sales positions for Sybase, Vignette and Eloqua before founding EngageSciences. Richard’s career has taken him all over the world working with some of the globe’s leading brands such as EA, Newscorp, Nokia, Vodafone and Reed Elsevier. Richard graduated from York University in 1996.

Lee Shepstone

Lee started his career at a design agency before working for Vignette for ten years where he ended up as CTO of the Media Division which was the fastest growing product prior to the $310m acquisition by Opentext. As well as being a co-founder of EngageSciences, a global social media marketing platform, Lee has also been Chief Architect on some of the largest web projects in the world including the Athens 2004 Olympics.

Iain Short

Iain also began his working life at a design agency before embarking on an eleven year career at Vignette where he ended up as lead product architect of the Vignette Media engineering team. Iain has also run some of the largest corporate web projects, as Lead Architect for the Services team at Vignette before co-founding EngageSciences.

Tom Huxtable

Tom has a wealth of marketing agency experience spanning 15 years, most recently as Managing Director of a strategic marketing agency 23red and prior to that Business Director at CHI (WPP). Tom has delivered marketing services and consulting at CMO level to some of the biggest companies in the world including RBS, Bacardi Limited, Waterstones, Holiday Inn Group and IBM.
